Bruce Almighty

The Stock Rooms visits Sydney master print maker Bruce Latimer.

Bruce Latimer’s studio is a wonderful mix of artisan’s workshop, bloke’s shed and gallery backroom. Bruce is a master printmaker and his work is full of fine detail and precision draughtsmanship. It also contains Bruce’s take on the modern world and his vision of what might be. Bruce works long and hard  at his craft and it’s a priviledge to watch a real craftsman at work testing and experimenting with his works to see what is going to give the best results. And like many of the printmakers, his studio- which is up a steep flight of stairs- houses his prized printing press, complete with manual controls.
