Indigenous Art at The Stock Rooms

The Stock Rooms is planning to stage more curated online exhibitions regularly and we began with the exciting Bush Spring exhibition curated by Susan McCulloch OAM, the well known Arts figure, Publisher and curator.

Bush Spring, featured works from a group of indigenous artists from seven important communities and featured 22 magnificent works depicting the new growth of the bush after the prolonged drought broken in the last 12 months by substantial rains.

Works include those by artists from the Eastern Desert region of Utopia. This strong homeland area is that of many famous artists including the late Emily Kame Kngwarreye and Minnie Pwerle as well as Gloria Petyarre and those represented here – Barbara Weir, Emily, Galya and Molly Pwerle and the younger Lizzie Pwerle.
