The Stock Rooms iPad painters: Call for Entries
The Stock Rooms has launched the world’s first iPad Painting competition.
The new competition invites entries from professionals to students to showcase the world’s newest painting form. iPad painting has come to the fore with David Hockney’s exciting new iPad paintings being shown in Paris, Toronto and now at the Royal Academy in London.
The works must be produced on an iPad using the Brushes app available at the App Store. The Brushes app is the choice of David Hockney but it also allows for tracking strokes to ensure the works have been produced solely on the iPad.
Judges for the competition will be Lewis Miller, the Archibald Prize winning painter, Tim Abdallah, Head of Art at leading auction house Menzies Fine Art and Rona Green.
There will also be a People’s Choice award.
The works will feature in a special online curated exhibition and will also feature in a Stock Rooms eBook. Selected works will also be offered for sale online.
Check out The Stock Rooms Facebook page for details.
PS. Our first entry is pictured above. It’s from Fraser Scarfe:
” Study of a group of trees in my home village of Edlington. The study was made on the first sunny day after a week of snow – the light picked out all the individual branches of every tree and added a real warmth to the background.”
Thanks Fraser. Watch for more entries.
