No Argy Bargy for Dean Bowen at The Stock Rooms
At The Stock Rooms we love Dean Bowen’s quirky take on Australia. It’s rich on metaphors and icons of a life well travelled. Dean Bowen produces a varied range of art from bronze sculptures to large scale oil paintings all featuring his unique sense of humour. Whatever Dean is poking fun at -the morning rush hour- in which he seldom participates- to whimsical paintings of the world’s strangest birds, Dean’s life is charmed. In between serious artworks, Dean has also recently collaborated with writer Jennifer Castles and publisher Allen and Unwin, on the illustrated children’s book, “A Song for Lorkie”. A monograph on Dean’s work, Argy Bargy, was published by Macmillan Art Publishing with a major essay by leading Art Historian and Curator Sheridan Palmer. Dean is unique. Just have a look at his page on The Stock Rooms and you’ll understand.
